The purpose of this Notice is to facilitate market access and safeguard assurances provided by New Zealand by setting out general requirements that must be met in order for honey and other bee products to be eligible for export. In particular, this Notice specifies the following:
a) requirements for ensuring that bee products meet market access requirements; and
b) requirements for ensuring traceability through the export supply chain; and
c) definition for monofloral and multifloral mānuka honey and associated requirements.

This Notice specifies the general export requirements that are to be complied with in order for animal material and animal products to be eligible for export as halal. This Notice revokes and replaces the Animal Products (Overseas Market Access Requirements for Halal Assurances) Notice 2016 on 1 January 2017.

This notice specifies the requirements that must be followed in order to receive an official assurance to accompany exported animal material or animal products within the scope of the Animal Products Act 1999 (the Act).
Animal Products Notice: Regulated Control Scheme - Control of Specified Substances
The prime purpose of this Notice is establishing a regulated control scheme for the control of specified substances in food producing animals, which is necessary or desirable to meet overseas market access requirements that have been notified or made available under section 60 of the Act.
