Recreational Fishing Initiative
The Recreational Fishing Initiative is a plan to improve communication with recreational fishers. We want to better understand your concerns and work together for shared sustainable fisheries for the future. Find out more about the initiative and how you can get involved.
The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) developed the Recreational Fishing Initiative to better engage and communicate with recreational fishers.

Results of MPI Recreational Fishing Mailing List Survey
In November 2017 and December 2017, we surveyed the MPI recreational fishing mailing list subscribers to see what people liked and what they wanted to see improved. 280 people responded (which is 20% of the 1,390 subscribers) over 3 weeks, with a 100% completion rate.
These responses will allow us to focus the information we provide to you, so that the emails we send out are as useful and interesting as possible.
Expect to see some changes to the mailing list in the new year as a direct result of this survey.
